SFL Power Rankings: Fin

Author’s note: I always forget to do this until the new season is right around the corner so I’ll get my first bit of feelers out now. If you’re interested in becoming more than just a reader and voting in the polls next season please do not hesitate to reach out and I’ll get you situated in the server for when I start handing out voting sheets. No restrictions; just passionate and consistent SFLers. Thanks!

And so here we are at the final week of Power Rankings on the eve of the final week of the regular season! You’ve caught me this week at the tail end of my staycation and personally, I’m ready for my SFL content vacation. It’s a lot of work holding down the fort and putting the team on my back but myself and the team of voters are ready for a break and a reset. Good luck to everyone still fighting for their playoff lives this week and I’ll see y’all at the Scenario Show!

voting breakdown

I’m honestly surprised I had something to say here every week, satire or otherwise. Shoutout to Oklahoma City who may have been last every week but never swept the bottom of the barrel on voting. You can only go up from here. I hope.

can math be trusted?

#3 Vancouver Legion (69.91) & #4 Mexico City Aztecs (68.34)

Last season after the final week of the regular season concluded the top team in Strength Rating was the Mexico City Aztecs over what seemed to be a dominate Canton club that was hoping to close the deal after missing out on a perfect season in Season 22. But, lo and behold, the final ended up being between these two and the Aztecs came out on top. Strength Rating had 3 of the 4 teams in it’s top 4 in the semis with the odd team out being Arizona who was beaten by Florida in the quarters. The numbers are very close heading into the final week and as you can see on the graphic the ratings are close across the board. Will these be our two finalists? Does this mean the Legion playoff curse ends? Can math be trusted?

week 15 premier matchup

#6 Houston Headhunters(-2.5) @ #12 Bossier City Steamers | O/U 47.5 | April 13th 6:30 PM EDT

We always seem to come back to the South Division, eh? Every single game has truly meant something to the standings for the division and overall as well as each game generally being electric from start to finish. And these finales will be no different. I had no idea where to set the lines for any of the games outside of the Aztecs match, but they aren’t playing within the division. We will see in the Scenario Show on Saturday night just how much all of these games will matter and how Houston still has a shot to win the South, go 9-3 and possibly snatch a bye at the very end. And Bossier City themselves are fighting to be in the field and complete the southern sweep of playoff bids. This is just so much that will be going on where every second and every inch will matter in the end.

coda

And that’s a wrap on Season 24 of the SFL as told by yours truly and the Power Rankings crew. We’ll see you next season for more fun, more storylines and a sprinkle of math. Go Scorpions! I hope Brett is right about Denver. Save the Lions!
