SFL Power Rankings: Lucky Number 7?
Here we are at the penultimate week of Power Rankings and the fatigue seems to be setting in across the board. The finish line is in sight for a handful of teams and another handful are just hoping for a few chips to fall their way. Most seasons seven wins is enough but this season it looks like it will just give you a chance to make it in. As such, the six loss teams are holding out hope for an upset or two to give them their own outside shot at making the postseason.

Last week, after some sleuthing, we believe we have cracked the code on Sam Blotner’s rationale so just know we’re on to you, kid.
from zero to hero?
#13 Queen City Corsairs (6-5)
From zero wins to six will always go done as a huge accomplishment for the Corsairs but with playoffs so close for them and dropping a few games late that has pushed them to needing to win their final game to have a shot at the postseason feels a bit like a letdown in some ways. Their SOV is already low and beating a two win Chicago team will not help that case any for them. Add in all of the other teams with at least 6 wins who may end up with them in a 7-5 clump and we have a Tulsa/Lexington situation here except this time they may not be the only team left out with a positive record. Again, before they jump down my throat, this season is an accomplishment despite where they land in the standings. But after a 3-1 start to the season we can still talk about the 3-4, probable 4-4, finish that may just not be enough.
week 14 premier matchup
#1 Albuquerque Atoms @ #6 Mexico City Aztecs(-3.5) | O/U 42.5 | April 5th 6:30 PM EDT
I’m pretty sure we’ve seen these two teams all over the Premier Matchup throughout the season and for good reason. The South Division has been red hot out the gate and it is still anyone’s division as we enter Week 14. The Atoms could officially clinch with a win here and the Aztecs could put all of the pressure on Albuquerque as Mexico City would just have the downtrodden Scorpions left to play and wrap up another division title. Albuquerque is not at home for this one so it can definitely go either way but a win would give them home field for at least one, probably two and potentially all games in the postseason and they are still undefeated at home as a franchise. I have personally always felt like the Atoms have always had what it takes to win a title ever since moving up to the pros and we all know Cam hates a dynasty so in true SFL fashion I am sure I’m wrong and Mexico City is about to ride off into the sunset with a top 4 finish and a division title. How’s that for reverse psychology?
