SFLm Updates - Playoffs, Off-season, Dev League!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SFLm Playoff Dates Announced, Offseason Updates, and Exciting New Training Camp Details

The SFLm is gearing up for an exciting conclusion to the season, with the Playoff dates officially set and a host of key updates for the offseason. Some concessions have had to be made due to manpower constraints, and the reality of having a Commissioner whose day job is outside of virtual football.

SFLm Playoff Dates:

The first round of the SFLm playoffs will kick off on March 26th, with Round 1, Game 1. If necessary, Round 1, Game 2 will take place on April 3rd. The playoff format is set to be dynamic:

  • Should the 1st and 2nd seeds each win their respective Game 1 matchups, both teams will advance directly to the Final, which will be held on April 3rd.
  • If Round 1, Game 2 is required, the Final will be played on April 9th.

Fans and players alike are eagerly awaiting what promises to be an exciting finish to the season, with high stakes and intense competition.

Offseason Updates and the Transition to the Training Camp:

Updated 4/2/2025: There will be no further weekly +3 forms, as the demands on SFLm Staff have made this an insurmountable boulder to push up the hill. However, significant developments are on the horizon, including the introduction of the SFLm Training Camp:

On June 3rd, the first-ever SFLm Training Camp will take place. This will allow players to purchase all extra +3s from the remaining 16 progression weeks of the season in a single purchase. Players will be able to purchase 48 progression points (16 weeks x 3 points) at the fixed market rate on June 3rd. There are no limits on what players can buy other than what their player bank can afford and position stat maximums.

Developmental League (Dev League) Participation:

The SFLm Training Camp will also open to players from the Developmental League (Dev League). The Dev League will be comprised of:

  • Players in the bottom 10% of the league at the start of the season.
  • Players in the bottom 10% at the end of the regular season.
  • Undrafted Free Agents (UDFAs), OL/ST coached players excluded.

In total, these players will be eligible for 57 points of progression (19 weeks x 3 points), subject to the same limitations as minor league rookies: individual player bank and position stat max.

Looking Ahead to Season 11 and the Future of the Dev League:

For Season 11 of the SFLm, corresponding to Season 25 of the SFL, the Dev League will be fully integrated into the portal. This integration will bring the virtual economy for player progression into full effect, ensuring that players in the Dev League will have a seamless and efficient experience.

However, if the additional +3 functionality is not fully operational within the portal by the summer, the SFLm will NOT be running weekly forms and will instead hold another Training Camp to facilitate player development at the end of the year, once the SFL Championship game concludes.

Key Dates to Remember:

  • March 26, 2025 – Round 1, Game 1 of the SFLm Playoffs
  • April 3, 2025 – Round 1, Game 2 (if necessary) and possibly the Final
  • April 9, 2025 – Final (if Game 2 is required)
  • June 3, 2025 – SFLm Training Camp (make-up of missed progression points for players)
  • Season 11 (SFLm) – Launch of the fully integrated Dev League in the portal

The SFLm is proud to continue offering new and innovative opportunities for players, and we look forward to an exciting end to the season and an incredible offseason full of growth and opportunity. Thank you all for your patience and support over Season 10, and I'm excited to bring you another slate of SFLm action in the Summer!
